Points of view, ideologies and memories mingle in the black coffee of family history
Two brothers recount the journey of their grandfather and his brothers through Spain at war, from Franco's coup d'état to exile in France. It is a story told through the memories they were told and which they, in turn, want to pass on, to help them understand and remember. Sugar and coffee to talk about the Spanish War and the Retreat; the kitchen as a playground, everyday objects as protagonists, the dining table as a chessboard of our shared history.
